Installation Procedures

Additional information has been added to the Cross Product Dependencies chapter in the Planning & Installation Guide.

Change Blackout

A new option has been added to place a blackout entry in Warn Mode. The default value is NO (not in Warn Mode).

RTM New

A new option has been added to enable the recording of jobnames. The default is NO. Recording of jobnames can potentially create thousands of reference records.

FDR Interface

NEW FEATURE: This first Beta version of the eventACTION FDR interface provides tracking for changes made using FDR, FDRDSF and FDRABR. It is intended that a subsequent version will provide controls for these FDR facilities as well.

NOTE: This feature is currently under Beta test and is subject to further change. Please notify Action Software International if you wish to test this feature, and provide feedback regarding the results of your testing.

DAILY job

Two new steps have been added to the DAILY job to aid in problem determination: MZCXSTAT and MZCXLOG

Please ensure that you add these steps to your existing DAILY job.

DEBUG job

This new job consists of four other jobs to make it easier for gathering problem information: MZCXSTAT, MZCXLOG, MZZQUTIL, and PRTLOG

Dataset options

Please ensure you are not gathering unnecessary data by suspending the following:

*SMTP*.ADDRBLOK
*SMTP*.NOTE
SYS1.BRODCAST
SYS1.DUMP%%
SYS1.HASP*
SYS1.UADS

Authorizing the use of Operator Commands

eventACTION must issue operator commands for several purposes, including:

START - to start components that run in separate address spaces and to start scheduled started tasks,
SEND - to notify users of conditions that require their attention,
DISPLAY - to display the status of resources required by eventACTION.

If your site uses its data security product (RACF, etc,) to control the use of operator commands, you must ensure that the eventACTION started task is able to issue these commands.
