Release 7.01

November 18, 2004

User-defined messages

New Feature:  You can now define your own messages to be issued whenever eventACTION issues messages to a user, e.g., messages from PXC. At present, user-defined messages are supported from PXC only. Other features will use them as requests are received from users.

Product Execution Control

Uses "User-defined messages". Some examples of messages are:

  • The defined product may be discontinued effective as of a certain date.
  • A new version of the defined product is available in a different library, showing the data set name of the library.
  • The product should be run on different machines, showing a list of machines on which the product can run.

Use primary command MSG from a selected PXC entry to add/update groups of messages.

New Feature:  On the list panel, you can use primary command SIM to simulate the execution of a product by providing a program name and/or data set name.

Reference Tracker / Change Tracker

A new beta feature is available to track the execution and changes of PDSE load library modules. To activate this beta feature, specify PARM=DSRV at eventACTION startup.

Note: This feature is currently under Beta test and is subject to further change. Please notify Action Software International if you wish to test this feature, and provide feedback regarding the results of your testing.
